STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.– Staten Islanders should plan to alter their weekly trash routine for Labor Day.
The Department of Sanitation announced that there will be no trash, curbside composting or recycling collection in NYC on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025.
Anyone who normally gets Monday trash, curbside composting or recycling collection should instead place their material at the curb Monday evening, for collection beginning Tuesday, Sept. 2.
“All residents should understand collection delays may be common after holidays,” according to a statement from the Department of Sanitation.
