Police in a Chicago suburb are asking the public for help locating a man suspected of stabbing a pregnant woman.

The Montgomery Police Department is requesting help from the public in locating Ricardo Perez-Fuentes, 39, as they believe he is connected to a stabbing that occurred on the west side of the area on Saturday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Jericho Road for a report of a stabbing, police said. On scene, officers located a pregnant female who had been stabbed multiple times.

The woman and her unborn child were transported to a local hospital, police said. They were in critical but stable condition as of Saturday evening.

Police described Perez-Fuentes as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’4″ to 5’6″ tall, weighting around 190 pounds, with dark hair.

Perez-Fuentes was last seen wearing dark pants and a dark-colored jacket, police said.

Do not approach Perez-Fuentes, police said, as he may be armed and dangerous.

“If you see him or have information regarding his whereabouts, please call 9-1-1 immediately,” the Montgomery Police Department said in a statement.

Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Detective Lindholm at (331) 212-9050 or llindholm@ci.montgomery.il.us.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police said they will provide more updates as they become available.
