RESEDA, CA — Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in Reseda Friday night, police said.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the LAPD’s Valley traffic detectives are investigating the fatal hit-and-run that killed a man in his mid-30s.
The incident took place on Friday at around 8:05 p.m. on Victory Boulevard west of Belmar Avenue, police said. A man had just exited the driver’s side of his parked vehicle when a driver in a black compact SUV, traveling westbound on Victory Boulevard, veered to the right and struck him, police said.
The driver of the black SUV continued westbound on Victory Boulevard and turned northbound on Corbin Avenue without stopping to identify himself or render aid, as required by law, police said.
Los Angeles Fire Department medics responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead, police said. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and VTD detectives are urging anyone who was traveling in the area of Victory Boulevard and Belmar Avenue on Friday at around 8:05 p.m. to come forward with any information regarding the fatal hit-and-run, police said.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves, police said.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles administrative code and created a hit-and-run reward program trust fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise, police said.
