INGRAM, Texas — On Saturday, Governor Greg Abbott and the Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund presented financial assistance to additional families whose homes were destroyed or severely damaged in the catastrophic Hill Country floods.
The event was held in Ingram and marked the second time Abbott has personally delivered checks to survivors, following last month’s devastating floods that left many residents without homes. The funds come from the “Strait to the Heart” benefit concert, organized by Texas music legend George Strait and Estancia Estates founder Tom Cusick, which raised more than $7 million to support impacted Texans.

“No one here is going to leave empty-handed to begin the process of rebuilding,” Abbott said. “All of us are working together to ensure that we are building homes and rebuilding businesses at record pace. Our goal is to help you rebuild your lives as quickly as possible.”
