ARLINGTON – Eliminated from the playoffs last week, the injury-riddled Dallas Wings have made it a point to finish out the 2025 season strong.
But their losing streak extended to five on Sunday with a 90-81 loss to the Golden State Valkyries (19-18) at College Park Center. Dallas fell to 1-2 in their series with the WNBA’s newest team and 9-29 on the season.
Maddy Siegrist led the Wings with 16 points on 5-of-12 shooting in the loss, while Myisha Hines-Allen recorded 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Amy Okonkwo, whom the Wings signed to a seven-day hardship contract on Thursday, also excelled off the bench. She shot 5-of-8 from the floor and scored 12 points.
Dallas turned the ball over just three times on Sunday, but shot 9-of-28 from three on the day Paige Bueckers’ 30-game streak of double-digit scoring came to an end. Before Sunday’s game, the rookie phenom had scored in double digits each game of her young WNBA career.

Against a Valkyries squad that double and triple-teamed her all afternoon, Bueckers shot 3-of-12 from the field. She finished with nine points and nine assists, days after scoring the most points of any WNBA player this season when she dropped 44 against the Los Angeles Sparks in an 81-80 loss on Wednesday.
In the first half, Bueckers managed no points, which were hard to come by for the Wings early.
The Valkyries started the first quarter on a 7-0 run that ended when Siegrist made two free throws at the 6:18 mark. Golden State went on another run before the Wings, down 12-2 with just over five remaining in the first quarter, called a timeout.
Dallas took a 38-36 halftime lead over the Valkyries, outscoring Golden State 26-13 in the second quarter after ending the first quarter down 11.
Bueckers opened scoring for the Wings in the second half, driving to the rim early in the third quarter for her first bucket of the contest. But the Wings relinquished their halftime lead as the Valkyries outscored them 25-17 in the third quarter and 54-43 over the second half.
Four Wings players — guards Arike Ogunbowale, Ty Harris and JJ Quinerly along with center Li Yueru — missed Sunday’s game with injury. Harris, Quinerly and Yueru have all been ruled out for the season with knee injuries and Ogunbowale has missed several games with tendinitis in her right knee.
The Valkyries were pretty beat up, too, with five players making their injury report and three being ruled out for Sunday’s game.
With just two home games remaining in 2025, Dallas is hobbling towards the regular season finale on Sept. 11 at College Park Center.
