Amid the ups and downs of food halls in New York City, Time Out Market is banking on a second location with a stacked lineup. Eater previously reported that it will include chef Kwame Onwuachi’s Patty Palace stand, but now the full list includes Unapologetic Foods’ kebab restaurant Kebabwala, a burger stand by Bushwick bar food spot Lori Jayne, a new location of Taqueria El Chato, and much more. Time Out Market Union Square will open at 124 East 14th Street, between Third and Fourth avenues in the East Village, in September.

Here’s a rundown of Time Out Market’s Union Square food vendors:

Kebabwala will serve up kebabs from northern India, as chef Chintan Pandya explains. There will be chicken, lamb, beef, and paneer options. Originally, parent company Unapologetic Foods was planning on opening the restaurant as a standalone in the East Village on Second Avenue, but that was put on hold because of gas line issues. (The team relocated its Long Island City restaurant, Adda, into the East Village to much acclaim.)

Eater already reported that Lori Jayne, the hot Bushwick food spot within dive bar Alphaville, closed over the weekend while chef and owner Sam Braverman teased that he was opening something new in Manhattan. That turns out to be a burger-dedicated stand within Time Out Market. The burgers will be made with an “extra fatty custom beef blend,” he tells Eater, from Brooklyn butcher shop Paisanos, and will cost $10 ($11 for a cheeseburger). There will also be black garlic sweet chile chicken wings, Buffalo chicken sandwiches (where the meat is made with a gluten-free breading and is marinating in a mixture that contains grana padana), crispy Sichuan mushrooms, frozen custards, and fries. Braverman is also working on opening a full-on Lori Jayne restaurant in Williamsburg in 2026.

Patty Palace will focus on Onwuachi’s Jamaican patties with fillings like curried chicken, beef, and jerk mushroom, served alongside coco bread, ginger-cabbage slaw, jerk barbecue sauce, and a green seasoned aioli. This will be Patty’s third overall location: the first is in Citi Field, and there’s a food truck at Lincoln Center.

New York City Mexican restaurant Taqueria El Chato’s Union Square location will be its third. It’ll serve up tacos (suadero, pastor, tripa, chorizo, mushroom), vampiros, and quesadillas. Co-owners Chris Reyes and chef Gerardo Alcaraz opened the restaurant in Greenpoint in August 2024, followed by one in Greenwich Village this past May.

Astoria Thai restaurant Kam Rai Thai’s Time Out Market Union Square stand will serve fast-casual dishes like smoked grilled pork buns, khao soi with chicken, crispy Hat Yai fried chicken, sticky rice, and pad see ew. Co-owners chef Dhanapol “Oak” Marprasert and Jiraporn “Jina” Tisopa just opened a new Thai restaurant at Hudson Yards, Samsaen. They opened the original Kam Rai in 2023.

Staten Island sandwich shop Paninoteca by Anthony is opening its second location and first in Manhattan. Owner Anthony Valois will focus on his Italian American sandwiches, such as the roast beef with fresh mozzarella, sauteed onions, and dark gravy (named as one of the New York Times’ best sandwiches in the city); the Prosciutto Union Square, made with prosciutto di Parma, mozzarella, and sundried peppers; and the Della-Tella with truffle mortadella, stracciatella, and pistachio pesto; and more.

Brooklyn pizza chain Fornino is opening its first Manhattan location (and overall fourth) at Time Out’s Union Square spot — chef and owner Michael Ayoub also operates one within the Dumbo market. Expect pizza and salads.

The food hall will have a section dedicated to pastries, sweets, and breakfast items. There will be cinnamon rolls from newer East Village bakery Sunday Morning; Epicerie Boulud’s croissants, egg muffins, and navettes; New Jersey bakery Shortbread Society’s namesake item; Magnolia Bakery’s banana pudding; and New York-style cheesecake.

The bar will serve cocktails (bourbon-ginger sour, mezcal-pear), beers, wines, and nonalcoholic options. Other drinks include espressos from Coffee Project NY and La Colombe cold brew.

Time Out Market Union Square took over what was a location of food hall Urbanspace (which is in the middle of shuttering and rebranding its existing location). The 10,000-square-foot, 240-seat space includes seven food stands, a bar, a stage, communal tables, and an outdoor terrace. There are plans for events, such as concerts, dance shows, and DJ sets. The market’s first NYC location is in Dumbo.
