NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who beat a woman who’d asked him to put out a cigarette on a subway train in the South Bronx.
The NYPD released video Monday of a suspect in connection with the July 26 assault aboard a 2 train in Mott Haven.
A 64-year-old woman was riding the train near the 149th Street–Grand Concourse station around 1:30 a.m. when the suspect sat across from her and lit up a cigarette, police said.
When she asked him to extinguish the cig, he attacked her, punching her throughout the body, according to police.
EMS responded to the scene and treated the victim for minor injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
