AUSTIN – A San Antonio resident has quietly joined the ranks of Texas lottery winners, claiming a Powerball prize worth just over $1 million from the Aug. 18 drawing.
The ticket, purchased at an H-E-B grocery store on Bulverde Road, matched all five white ball numbers — 15, 46, 61, 63 and 64 — falling just one number short of the jackpot. The ticket missed only the red Powerball, which was 1. In addition to the $1,000,000 second-tier prize, the ticket also carried a modest $4 win.
The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, accepted the prize last week, according to the Texas Lottery Commission.
The odds of matching all five white balls but not the Powerball, the category in which the San Antonio ticket landed, are about one in 11.7 million.
