Houston drivers can now shop Hertz’s used cars on Amazon — browse, finance, and buy online, then pick up at a local location.

HOUSTON — Houstonians can now shop for a used car the same way they order everyday items — on Amazon.

Hertz Car Sales has rolled out its inventory on Amazon Autos, giving drivers the ability to browse, finance, and even complete a purchase online before picking up a vehicle at a local Hertz Car Sales location. Houston and Dallas are among the first cities to launch the program, alongside Los Angeles and Seattle.

How it works

Shoppers can search for available Hertz vehicles on Amazon.com/autos. Options will include thousands of pre-owned cars from brands like Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet, and Nissan. The entire process — from viewing vehicle history reports to financing and e-signatures — can be handled through Amazon’s checkout system. Once purchased, buyers can pick up their cars at a designated Hertz Car Sales location.

What buyers get

Hertz says cars listed on Amazon will come with added peace of mind:

  • Every vehicle goes through a 115-point inspection.
  • Purchases include a 12-month/12,000-mile limited powertrain warranty.
  • Buyers get 24-hour roadside assistance and a 7-day/250-mile buy-back guarantee*.
  • Flexible financing options are available through major lenders.

Why it matters

For Houston drivers, the move means fewer trips to the dealership and a wider selection of certified used cars available in just a few clicks.

It’s also part of Hertz’s push to modernize its business after years of industry changes. Amazon gains as well, expanding its reach in the car market beyond parts and accessories.

What’s next

The program is expected to grow to Hertz’s 45 Car Sales locations across the country. For now, Houston and Dallas drivers are among the first who can shop for used cars this way.
