SAN ANTONIO, Tex. (KGNS) – A suspect wanted for their involvement in the murder of 14-year-old Simon Cuevas in west San Antonio has succumbed to his injuries after reportedly shooting himself in Laredo days earlier.
According to reports from KENS-5, the Bexar County Medical Examiner confirmed that 20-year-old Cesar Tijerina died from his injuries on Monday morning, August 24, at a hospital in San Antonio.
On August 22, Laredo Police responded to a call at the 5000 block of Palmito Dr. around 4 a.m. and found Tijerina with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Police say Tijerina was initially taken to a local hospital and later flown to San Antonio for recovery, where he was handed over to authorities.
It was revealed that Tijerina was involved in Cuevas’s murder in April, when he and a group of people followed Cuevas as he was leaving his house, then pulled out a gun and shot him, leading to his death.
