NY Giants training camp 2025 practice highlights from the sidelines

See and hear New York Giants players in highlights during training camp practices from the sideline in East Rutherford.

EAST RUTHERFORD – The New York Giants, like every other NFL team, are in the process of cutting their roster from 90 down to 53 by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline.

The Giants got an early start towards the 53-man roster in the aftermath of their preseason finale, making eight moves. They made two more transactions Sunday in advance of cut down day, meaning the roster is at 80 (kicker Jude McAtamney is 81, but he will be exempt and a member of the practice squad because of the International Pathway Program).

NorthJersey.com and The Record is bringing you live updates for every roster move ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man deadline. Follow along.

Brian Daboll is set to talk to us on a video call at 12:30 p.m., and while none of the Giants’ moves made are official yet, there are 13 additional transactions needed to get to the league’s 53-man limit.

Our count: the Giants are at 66.

The Giants have waived TE Greg Dulcich, source confirms. This is not a shock if you focused on the big picture. Dulcich had a great summer. Reset his career, which is good for his next step. Theo Johnson is the Giants’ TE in the passing game. Was expecting they would keep seventh round rookie Thomas Fidone over Dulcich, and the first part of that just happened. If Dulcich does not get claimed, he could wind up back with the Giants on the practice squad.

This one’s a little bit of a surprise: the Giants have waived Chatman, who earned positive reviews for his two-way play at fullback this summer. He’s also been a constant in a rotation with the second team defensive line. Have to imagine Giants hope to bring him back to PS.

Here’s where the Giants stand after their latest flurry of cuts:

The secondary trimming has begun with CB Tre Hawkins III and safeties Raheem Layne and Makari Paige headed to the waiver wire. The Giants have also waived OL Jake Kubas, OLB Tomon Fox, RB Jonathan Ward and TE Jermaine Terry, per sources.

Paige and Kubas would be strong practice squad candidates if they clear waivers.

Miller made a strong bid for the 53, but in the end, Cam Skattebo’s improved health and a possibility of adding to the position has Giants hoping Turbo returns to the practice squad.

DeVito has developed into a much better quarterback in Brian Daboll’s offensive system, but he was the odd man out in a revamped quarterback room that includes veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston and rookie first-round pick Jaxson Dart. Now we’ll see if the interest expressed behind the scenes from teams throughout the league comes to fruition in the form of a waiver claim, or will the former Don Bosco be weighing practice squad options.

The Giants began their roster cuts on Aug. 22. Here are the players who have been waived or released:

The veteran had started games for DC Shane Bowen in Tennessee. He was signed on the eve of training camp after working out for the Giants during their spring minicamp. The expectation was that Wallace would do enough in camp to bump up as the second pairing with Dan Belton, but that never materialized.

WR Montrell Washington

Washington had some juice and wiggle to his game, and a flair for the wild catch in camp. Dropped two passes from Jaxson Dart in Buffalo, and that inconsistency caught up to him in the preseason games and cost him in chase to squeeze out a spot.

WR Jordan Bly

The undrafted rookie showed flashes, but got caught up in a numbers’ game. In previous seasons, he may have gotten more opportunities.

ILB K.J. Cloyd

The man of 1,000 tackles last preseason was a late addition and never got his footing.

CB O’Donnell Fortune

The undrafted rookie made some plays against the Patriots, but was not consistent enough.

ILB Dyontae Johnson

The star of last summer failed to capitalize on chances in a group that was top heavy with Bobby Okereke, Micah McFadden and Darius Muasau.

C Jimmy Morrissey

The veteran was with the third and fourth units.

WR Zach Pascal

The veteran receiver had his moments in the Jets’ joint practice, but never made a serious move for the active roster.

OL Jaison Williams

The undrafted rookie from Youngstown State moved to guard and spent the summer on the third and fourth units.

Injured reserveCB T.J. Moore

The undrafted rookie certainly ran the gamut of emotions in Thursday’s preseason finale. He returned an interception for a touchdown, setting off a wild celebration on the sideline that caught national attention. Unfortunately, his promising night was dashed when his right leg buckled during a play on kick coverage. Moore underwent surgery to repair the fracture and was placed on IR, ending his season. He was likely a candidate for the practice squad.
