Defending NASCAR Berco Redwood Late Model champion Kenna Mitchell of Loomis charged into victory lane at the Midsummer Classic in July, scoring the win in the 50-lap feature. The victory propels Mitchell into a 24-point lead in the championship over Madera resident Joey Kennealy. Fort Bragg’s Trey Daniels, Lincoln’s Kylie Glick, and Auburn’s Colton Nelson round out the top-five in the standings. Other regulars in the division have included Castro Valley’s Chase Lopez, Sparks, Nevada’s Mia Wright, and Bella Thomsen of El Dorado Hills.
Mitchell is also pursuing victory in the Wild West Super Series which has a 75-lap feature scheduled. Former track champions Eric Schmidt and John Moore are tied in the standings heading into the Super Late Model event.
Tyler Wentworth of Rocklin has accumulated a 48-point cushion in the Berco Modified battle, with a 30-lap main event on Saturday. Bud Anderson, Marshel Meadows, Kris Price, and former Super Stocks champion Andrew Peeler round out the top-five.
Tim Walters of Dixon enjoys a 25-point lead in the NAPA Auto Parts Super Stocks ahead of Roseville’s Dean Wilkins. Phil Wilkins, Eric Bocksberg, and Terry Thomas, Jr. make up the rest of the top-five drivers before Saturday’s 30-lap race.
John Sproule won a thrilling battle in the F4s during the Midsummer Classic, topping former champion Ray Molina in the race to preserve a 22-point advantage over Molina in the championship. Barret Sugden is third while Thomas Cherry is fourth followed by Stephanie Ziebell.
The INEX Legends have not seen a repeat winner yet across four rounds of action. INEX national championship contender Brenden Ruzbarsky of Tracy leads the standings followed by Rocklin’s Robby Czub, Kai Lovell, Kylie Daniels, and Tyler Batzianis.
Kellen Keller enjoys a scant three point advantage in the Jr. Late Models action. Keller and Clovis’ Skyler Schoppe have each won twice in the battles for drivers ages 10-16 years old.
Pit gates open at 11:00am on Saturday with the drivers meeting at noon. Practices begin at 12:30pm. Grandstands open at 4pm with heat races at 5:15pm and main events at 6pm. The hard-hitting NAPA Auto Parts Trailer Bash closes the show.
