A pair of teams that have been struggling recently meet up on Thursday, Aug. 28 when the New York Liberty host the Washington Mystics at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on Prime Video. Fans looking to watch this game can do so on Prime Video, which offers a free trial and access to WNBA League Pass as well as plenty of other content, including NBA and NFL games, tons of documentaries across sports and a plethora of tv shows and movies.
The Liberty are 23-15 after going 6-9 over a little more than a month of action. They are now fighting to earn home court for the playoffs with the Atlanta Dream, Las Vegas Aces and Phoenix Mercury. However, much of that stretch was without Breanna Stewart, who got injured on July 26 against the Los Angeles Sparks, and then returned on Monday in the 81-79 win over the Connecticut Sun. She led the team with 19 points in 21 minutes while Jonquel Jones chipped in 18, 11 rebounds and six assists and Sabrina Ionescu went for 11, nine assists and seven rebounds.
The Mystics are holding on for dear life in the playoff hunt at 16-22, and have lost four straight, including two to the Sun, who are one of three teams already eliminated from playoff contention. Their last game went down to the final shot against the Seattle Storm, and Nneka Ogwumike spoiled Shakira Austin’s 30-point performance with her own 30 point outing and the buzzer-beating game-winner. In Washington’s last meeting with New York rookie Kiki Iriafen went for 17 with nine rebounds and fellow rookie Sonia Citron had 13 and five, but they fell 86-78.
