After a tough 2024 season, San Diego State is looking to dust itself off and hope after an extensive roster turnover that this season will be different. This also marks the last season the school will be in the Mountain West Conference, as it makes the move to the Pac-12 next season.
The Aztecs endured a frustrating 3-9 record in 2024, their worst record since 2008, including a brutal six-game losing streak to close out the season. The transition to a new defensive coordinator and quarterback makes this year’s success uncertain. However, SDSU returns seven of its nine All-Mountain West players from a year ago.
Stony Brook’s 2024 season was an incredible turnaround after going winless in 2023. The Seawolves posted an 8-4 record and now return several key players to hopefully build on last year’s success. Some of those returning include running back Roland Dempster, kicker Enda Kirby, along some veteran offensive linemen.
