BCSO said the child died due to heat-related injuries and the parents are currently being questioned by investigators.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says a 1-year-old girl is dead after her parents found her in a hot car on the far southwest side.

Around 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 12104 block of Parish Divide after parents told dispatch they found their 1-year-old daughter unresponsive in a car.

BCSO said the child died due to heat-related injuries, but the medical examiner’s office will ultimately determine the cause of death.

The child’s parents are currently being interviewed and questioned by investigators.
