A woman was found fatally shot early Saturday, according to a Fort Worth Police Department news release.

Officers were dispatched at about 7:30 a.m. to the 2600 block of Yeager Street on a stabbing call. Upon arrival, officers instead found a deceased woman with an apparent gunshot wound to her upper body, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Saturday afternoon that a suspect was in custody. The suspect and victim appeared to have been staying at that location but were not permanent residents. Police did not release any information about a possible motive.

The suspect was seen leaving the location several hours before the victim was found. The suspect was located in west central Texas, Fort Worth police said.
