Avoid these high-water locations as severe storms roll through Houston area

  • August 31, 2025

HOUSTON – Severe storms are moving through the Houston area, causing flash flooding and dangerous road conditions.

KPRC 2 is urging residents to “turn around, don’t drown” if they happen to encounter some of these roadways, but we’re also giving drivers a heads-up before heading out the door.

Here is a list of high-water locations by Houston TranStar:

  • IH-10 East Westbound At Lockwood Dr

TxDOT reported flash flooding near I-45 and I-610, with water covering the westbound frontage road. Flooded areas were noted west of I-45 from Telephone Road to Roe Drive, creating hazardous conditions for drivers.

Flooding (Viridiana Moreno)

Flooding reported at TX 225 and Allen Genoa Road in Houston.

KPRC 2 will continue to make updates to this story as more information becomes available.
