It may feel like fall, but that doesn’t mean that the concert calendar is slowing down. From a pair of British rock groups to Riot Fest – a three-day festival celebrating, punk, rock, and rebellion – here’s a look at some of the most exciting events happening in and around Chicago throughout the month of September.

Dua Lipa – United Center – Sept. 5 & 6

This month, Dua Lipa is returning to Chicago for a pair of shows at the United Center on Sept. 5 & 6. As these performances are part of the Radical Optimism Tour, you know the good vibes will be flowing from the moment Dua Lipa steps on stage to the final notes of her encore.

On the heels of the release of their stellar new album, The Clearing, Wolf Alice is embarking on a North American Tour that stops at The Vic Theatre in Chicago on Sept. 26. Ellie Rowsell and company are sure to serve-up a setlist that will make you want to dance, scream, and have an amazing time with your “Bros.”

Issa Rae – Chicago Theatre – Sept. 23

Attention Insecure fans, the series’ mastermind and star Issa Rae will be appearing at the Chicago Theatre on her book tour for I Should Be Smarter By Now. The event is billed as an “In Conversation” experience so stay tuned to learn who will be leading the discussion on Sept. 23.

Much like Wolf Alice, Wet Leg are another British rock band returning to Chicago with a slew of new music. Expect quite a few songs from their latest release, Moisturizer, to appear on the setlist when they play The Salt Shed on Sept. 10.

Tedeschi Trucks Band – Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island – Sept. 9

Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks are bringing the Tedeschi Trucks Band to Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island on Sept. 9. If you watched the 2021 documentary Learning to Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen, you know that TTB is sounding better than ever with their timeless approach to classic blues rock. This show is part of a co-headlining tour with Gov’t Mule – with support from Nolan Taylor – so you are getting three incredible performances in one sure-to-be fantastic show.

Elsewhere in September, Riot Fest is bringing positive punk energy to Douglass Park on Sept. 19 – 21 with a lineup that finds Rilo Kiley, Rico Nasty, Lambrini Girls, and many more artists joining headliners Blink-182, Weezer, and Green Day for an unforgettable three-day weekend. Lady Gaga will be taking over the United Center on Sept. 15, 17 and 18 and Kali Uchis will also be performing at “the house that Jordan build” on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23. Garbage and Starcrawler are playing The Salt Shed on Sept. 29 and Rebellious Magazine favorite Margo Price is headlining Evanston Folk Festival on Sunday, Sept. 7.

September is absolutely stacked with great shows so there is something for everyone to enjoy!
