Drivers navigating Interstate 30 in Dallas-Fort Worth this weekend should expect delays as road construction forces a closure.

Beginning Friday evening, the Texas Department of Transportation will close all westbound lanes of I-30 between Fielder Road in Arlington, and Eastchase Parkway in Fort Worth, for planned bridge work.

The closure begins at 9 p.m. on Sept 5, and runs through 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8.

Crews will be working to repair Randol Mill Road bridge beams that were damaged by an 18-wheeler in June. A second weekend of construction is scheduled for 9 p.m. Sept. 19 through 6 a.m. Sept. 22.

Traffic will be detoured north on State Highway 360, west on State Highway 183, and south on Interstate 820 to reconnect to I-30 beyond the closure, according to TxDOT.

The beam replacement will “restore vital community connection,” according to the agency.
