The 2025 US Open is now drawing into its final stages, and Martina Navratilova has made a big call about the men’s singles draw.
Navratilova, who officially retired at the US Open in 2006, knows what it takes to win the tournament as a four-time singles champion.
Nowadays, the former world number one comments on the action as both a pundit and commentator.
Before the tournament even started, Navratilova predicted her singles champions, but it now appears that she has gone back on that.

At the start of the tournament, Navratilova predicted Carlos Alcaraz to win the US Open after his victory at the Cincinnati Open.
However, after Sinner’s emphatic victory over Alexander Bublik, Navratilova told Sky Sports that she has now actually changed her mind, but she was by no means ruling Alcaraz out.
“I did pick Carlos before the tournament started. Although the way Sinner played yesterday was pretty scary,” said Navratilova. “Although I think with his variety, he still has a chance. But I think Sinner is the slight favorite, especially the way he’s been playing on the hard courts these last two years.
“It’s hard to go against that but Carlos has looked sharp as well and he can bring something extra that even Sinner doesn’t have”

Although Sinner is now Navratilova’s prediction to win the title, Alcaraz is the only player yet to drop a set in the men’s singles draw at the US Open this year.
Navratilova has also praised Alcaraz at the US Open this year, and was full of praise for the Spaniard after his victory over Jiri Lehecka.
“He’s found the perfect balance for himself and that speaks for his state of mind,” said Navratilova. “He’s mature enough to know what he needs to do now, and it will help his longevity as well.
“It’s been all A’s at this point. He can only play as well as the opponent forces to play, but he’s clicking so far, playing better with each match as he needs to and still winning.”
Now standing in the way of Alcaraz is Novak Djokovic, who has provided a fitness update ahead of their semifinal match.
This will be a ninth meeting between the pair, with Djokovic leading the head-to-head 8-5 after he won their Australian Open quarterfinal earlier this year.
