Charlie Cummings gives his top DraftKings WNBA Pick6 plays and projections for the three-game WNBA slate on Thursday, September 4.
WNBA action on Thursday will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this year is WNBA Pick6.
This article will examine my top WNBA Pick6 plays for today’s action. You simply choose whether each set statistic will be more or less than the set number. With the stage ready, here are my favorite picks on the WNBA Pick6 slate.
A’ja Wilson Less Than 36.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
It’s been an excellent second half of the season for A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces. This turnaround has been nothing short of historic, going from a fringe playoff team to a contender for the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. But everyone has to cower at the might of the Minnesota Lynx, and the best player in the world is no different.
In two games against Minnesota, Wilson has a combined 25 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. For reference, her season-long per-game average is 23 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Las Vegas lost those two games by a combined 84 points. Their fortunes have changed, but the Lynx are still a colossus few can solve.
Kahleah Copper More Than 15.5 Points Scored
Speaking of hot teams, the Phoenix Mercury have been on a tear, winning seven of their last eight. Alyssa Thomas has rightfully captured headlines with her play during this stretch, but we’ve quietly seen the best version of Kahleah Copper as well.
Over those eight games, Copper is averaging 17.4 points per game while shooting 45% from the field, 39% from beyond the arc, and 85% from the free-throw line. The consistency has been important as well, scoring double-digits in seven of those eight games. Facing a Mystics defense that has taken a nosedive since trading away Brittney Sykes, expect another great scoring night from Copper.
Paige Bueckers Less Than 16.5 Points Scored
It’s been a stupendous rookie year for Paige Bueckers. The first-year All-Star has been every bit the franchise player that Wings fans were hoping she would be. But the Golden State Valkyries are a black hole that inhales scoring guards, spitting them back out battered and bruised. In her last matchup with the Valks, Bueckers scored only nine points on 3-of-12 shooting.
She has immense talent, and can go off on most nights, but this is an overwhelming defense for guards to face. Don’t count on a big scoring night for the presumptive Rookie of the Year.
