DALLAS — A popular restaurant in Dallas’ Knox-Henderson area has announced its closure after nearly two decades.

The Porch at 2912 N. Henderson Ave., which first opened in 2007, announced its closure Wednesday on social media.

“After more than 15 years, we’re closing this chapter of The Porch. Thank you for making us part of your lives—your celebrations, first dates, and weeknight rituals. We are forever grateful for your support and your friendship. We’ll see you around the neighborhood!” the restaurant shared on social media.

The Henderson Avenue staple served up elevated but casual American fare and was perhaps best known for its burgers and butter cake.

The popular eatery also served as a launching pad of sorts for Dallas chef Nick Badovinus, as D Magazine reported in 2008. He’s since launched Neighborhood Services, Town Hearth and Brass Ram, among other restaurants.

The restaurant was subsequently acquired by billionaire Tim Headington’s Headington Companies, whose portfolio includes the Joule Hotel, Mirador, Tango Room, and Commissary, among others.
