The Linfield University football team may play at the NCAA Division III level, but the Wildcats are famous across the entire college football landscape.

Linfield is the owner of the sport’s longest streak of consecutive winning seasons, a run that began in 1956 and remains alive thanks to a 10-2 campaign in 2024.

During their 68-season streak, the Wildcats have claimed four national championships – three NAIA (1982, 1984, 1986) and one NCAA Division III (2004).

Linfield has won more than 90 of its last 100 games, and the quest for a fifth trophy will begin at home Sept. 6 against UW-Oshkosh. UWO was the only team to beat Linfield in the 2024 regular season, a 28-21 overtime thriller in Wisconsin in Week 2.

The Wildcats will host back-to-back nonconference games before traveling to George Fox on Oct. 4 for the first of their seven consecutive conference games.

Linfield is the reigning Northwest Conference champion, a title earned in the final game of the 2024 regular season with a 34-7 win over Whitworth, which got the best of the Wildcats in the same game the year before.

The NWC championship earned Linfield a spot in the Division III Playoffs for the third time in four years, this time with a first-round bye.

The Wildcats came out strong with a 65-3 rout of Texas Lutheran in the second round but bowed out a week later, falling to Mary Hardin-Baylor, 28-18.

Lindfield finished the 2024 season 10-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play.
