One woman is being held without bond. The other eight suspects remain jailed on $1 million bonds.
LEAGUE CITY, Texas — Nine suspects are in custody following an investigation into a robbery inside a League City H-E-B in late July.
It happened at Sunny’s Jewelry and Watch Repair inside the H-E-B on the Gulf Freeway near FM 646 on July 28.
Investigators believe they may be involved in similar smash-and-grab robberies in the Houston area, according to the League City Police Department.
Eight of the suspects were arrested on Thursday, August 28, during coordinated operations across Houston. A ninth was taken into custody on Wednesday, September 3.
All nine are charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. Two of them, Vanessa Thompson and Tommie Coleman, also face aggravated robbery charges.

Vanessa Thompson is being held without bond. Coleman is being held on bonds totaling $2 million. The other six suspects have $1 million bonds.
LCPD hasn’t released details about the other possible cases the group may be linked to, but they say the investigation is very active.
A spokesman said they haven’t been able to establish a connection to a smash-and-grab inside a League City Walmart on FM 646 on August 10. Surveillance video in that case showed the suspect smashing cases and stealing cell phones.
Detectives with LCPD’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) worked with members of the Houston Police Department’s Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) on the investigation and arrests.
Texas Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted with the arrests.
