Nick Kyrgios hasn’t seen his tennis comeback go according to plan in 2025.
Kyrgios announced he would play the Australian Open back in January, but lost in straight sets to Jacob Fearnley from Great Britain.
He hasn’t featured at any of the other Grand Slam events this year, and Kyrgios recently announced that he was struggling with injury once again.
Kyrgios is due to play Aryna Sabalenka in a Battle of the Sexes exhibition, and it would appear that the US Open finalist has just ensured that the Australian will be upping the ante.

Kyrgios is extremely active on social media and when the big tournaments are on, he’s always keen to throw his opinion on things into the mix.
Yesterday proved a busy day for the Australian, with Djokovic making a brilliant claim about Kyrgios while speaking to the Serbian press.
Journalist Sasa Ozmo shared a quote from Djokovic when he was quizzed on his ongoing bromance with Kyrgios and it made for a brilliant read.
The 24-time Grand Slam winner told him: “Nick loves sending me clips from nightclubs, bars – I didn’t even reply to the last one! He always says: ‘Why do I keep running into Serbs everywhere in the world?’ He’ll go to a party, bump into one of ours, they’ll say: ‘Nick, you Serb!’ Then they hug, drink, and he sends me the videos.”

Kyrgios replied to Djokovic’s claims since these were posted, and it would appear that he’s touched and honoured by these comments.
He simply posted: “This is unbelievable hahaha.”
Kyrgios responds to Sabalenka claim about Battle of the Sexes
This match looks set to take place later in the year and it promises to be an intriguing one between Kyrgios and arguably the most powerful women’s player on the planet.
Sabalenka was asked about the match with Kyrgios after reaching the US Open final and she said: “I’ll definitely go out there, and I will try my best to kick his a*s.”
Kyrgios naturally got wind of these comments and responded in typical fashion, saying: “Alright, no prisoners.”
Exhibitions might be Kyrgios’ best bet for match practice at the moment but it would be great to see him back on the tour in the near future.
Kyrgios sent an emotional message to his fans recently and hopefully, he can get back to competitive tennis in the near future and start to make waves once again.
