The Cal Poly football team will take on the only FBS opponent the Mustangs will face this year when they play Utah at Salt Lake City Saturday.

The Mustangs (1-0) beat San Diego 41-17 at San Diego last week. Utah (1-0) trounced UCLA 43-10 at UCLA.
The Cal Poly offense totaled 469 yards against the Toreros, 335 passing and 134 rushing. Pitt transfer Ty Dieffenbach was 18-for-27 passing for 263 yards and two touchdowns. Dieffenbach also rushed for 69 yards and a score.
Redshirt senior wide receiver Michael Briscoe had seven catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Dieffenbach was the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week last week.
Linebacker Mikey D’Amato led the Cal Poly defense with a team-high 18 tackles, and linebacker Kenny Olson had 10 tackles and two sacks.
Utah quarterback Devin Dampier was 21-for-25 passing for 206 yards, with two touchdown passes and no interceptions last week. Dampier led the Utah rushers with 87 yards and a touchdown.
Dampier was one of three Utah ball carriers who rushed for more than 60 yards. Utah out-gained UCLA 492-220.
