The New York Yankees‘ AL East clash with the Toronto Blue Jays got interrupted Sept. 6 by a rain delay, but the game is expected to resume at 4:30 p.m.
The Yankees were leading, 2-1, when the tarp came out midway in the sixth inning.
“Today’s game is officially under a rain delay,” the Yankees announced on social media. “We will update you with information as it becomes available.”
It would be an official game if ultimately called due to the weather.
The forecast in the Bronx shows at least a chance of rain for the rest of the night. The chance of rain hovers around 40% to 45% until 8 p.m. when it goes up to about 60%.
The Yankees are four games back of the Blue Jays in the division after the loss on Sept. 5 in the first game of the series.
Luis Gil pitched six strong innings before the delay while Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells each picked up RBIs.
