Following up on our recent notes regarding top Kings prospect Liam Greentree, we have some additional news to report on his ongoing recovery from offseason wrist surgery.

Earlier this week, Mayor’s Manor noted:

LA’s top pick from the 2024 NHL Draft was in LA for Dev Camp, yet didn’t participate in any of the scrimmages due to having wrist surgery earlier in the summer. From what we’ve been able to gather via various team sources, things have gone extremely well with the 19-year-old forward’s rehab over the past few months. He’s currently attending camp with the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires (where he’s been a full participant). When he arrives in LA later this month, team doctors will check him out and the expectation is that he’ll be fully cleared to participate in Kings camp — including playing in the Rookie Faceoff games.

We can now add additional context to those notes.

In speaking with an OHL scout earlier today, Greentree was a healthy scratch from Windsor’s preseason game last night. However, it’s nothing to be alarmed about, as they held out a handful of players to get a look at some other kids. Further, Spitfires coach Greg Walters indicated nothing is wrong and he expects Greentree to play in the team’s exhibition game on Sunday, before the 19-year-old winger leaves for Los Angeles. He’ll then begin Rookie Camp with the Kings on Thursday. More information on that process can be found in the link below.
