One person was critically injured after they were shot in East Dallas, police said.

DALLAS — One person was critically injured after being shot in east Dallas, police said. 

Officers responded to a shooting call around 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Live Oak Street, Dallas police said in a press release. 

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. The suspect is unknown, officials said. 

Police are investigating the incident, the release states.
