SAN ANTONIO – A Sunday soaker for many continues. A large area of rain continues to expand across the I-35 corridor in and around Bexar County. A Flood Advisory has been issued in Bexar County for minor flooding issues and hazards for motorists with ponding on roads in typical areas. Drive with care this afternoon.

Much of this rain is steady light to moderate rain but there are a few heavier pockets embedded within this shield of rain.

There is one Flash Flood Warning active in southern Uvalde to Zavala County in our western zone where over 4″ of rain has fallen. A number of flood advisories are active elsewhere in there viewing area including northern Guadalupe County.

It has been a welcome rainfall as well falling over portions of our hardest hit drought areas.

This rain will continue into mid-afternoon with gradual weakening mid to late afternoon. Temperatures now are in the 70s and will struggle into the 80s later today as the rain dissipates. We will likely see our southern tier counties and out west near the Rio Grande see developing showers and storms where there has been little rain so far today and more heating.

The rain chance in our area shuts down entirely through sunset.
