PHOENIX — A man was killed in a shooting on Saturday night in south Phoenix, and police are asking the public for help with their investigation.
The Phoenix Police Department responded to the area of 5th Street and Wier, which is just south of Broadway Road, around 7:15 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He died from his injury before first responders could take him to a nearby hospital.
The shooting suspect had fled the area before police had arrived.
Police then handed the scene over to detectives, who interviewed nearby witnesses.
