STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Though New York City is kicking off the week on a rainy note, the last blast of summer is on the way.
Sunday’s rain will carry into the afternoon according to AccuWeather’s forecast. The high won’t climb further than 71 degrees as 0.33 inches of rain pours down on the city.
The work week starts on a drier note as the sun shines brightly throughout the day. Though the temperature is set to hit 73 degrees, AccuWeather said that it will feel like 78 degrees — remarking that Monday will be a “great day to be outside.”
Tuesday and Wednesday follow similarly with some clouds joining the sun as temperatures reach 73 degrees and 71 degrees respectively.
It’ll feel a hair warmer — between 75 and 76 degrees — but AccuWeather predicts it will be a nice couple of days of weather.
Thursday will be warmer than the rest of the week with a high of 82 degrees marking the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Friday will be “delightful,” according to AccuWeather. A mix of sun and clouds will be accentuated by a high of 75 degrees, though it will feel more like 80 degrees in the sunshine.
Saturday and Sunday will feel like sisters of each other: in the low- to mid-70s with “plenty of sunshine” to go around, AccuWeather said. The wind will pick up a bit on Sunday, giving a nice breeze to the 75-degree day.
Fall lovers will have to wait just a little bit more for the cooler days and autumn leaves.
