PHOENIX — The Scottsdale Fire Department announced this week it’s planning to build a new ambulance annex near one of its Valley stations.
The new ambulance annex will near Fire Station 601 in southern Scottsdale near Miller and McDowell roads.
The facility will be expanded to have a dormitory and base for ambulance workers that will feature several faculties, including a kitchen, dining area, bathrooms and medical storage. It will also include three vehicle bays which will house two ambulances and a supervisor vehicle.
“This expansion supports Scottsdale’s city-operated ambulance program, ensuring continued rapid and efficient response to both emergency and non-emergency calls,” Scottsdale Fire Chief Tom Shannon said in a news release Tuesday.
Scottsdale will be hosting an open house on Sept. 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Eldorado Community Center to provide more information to residents about the project.
