The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters basketball team will celebrate their 100th anniversary with a North American tour, including a stop at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Monday, February 16.
Starting on December 5, the massive tour will continue for over five months, traveling to over 40 states and the majority of Canada’s provinces. In addition to Fort Worth, the team will play in Dallas, Houston, and Cedar Park (suburb of Austin).
The centennial season will be a celebration of 100 years of jaw-dropping “No Way!” moves, 100 years of “Wow!” moments, and 100 years of basketball thrills, including gravity-defying dunks, game-changing tricks, and more.
Since 1926, the Globetrotters have used their global tour to showcase their iconic brand of basketball in more than 124 countries and territories across six continents.
They were founded in Chicago in 1926 by Abe Saperstein, initially under the name the Savoy Big Five. Saperstein renamed them the Harlem Globetrotters in 1930 to connect the team to the center of Black culture, despite their origins far from Harlem. They served as a trailblazing team for Black athletes, with players like Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton paving the way for Black players in the NBA.
In 1952, The Washington Generals — their “rivals” on the road — were founded as a regular opponent in exhibition games against the Harlem Globetrotters. Their role is to attempt to play a normal game of basketball, while the Globetrotters play tricks and showboat for the crowd.
The Globetrotters tour annually, oftentimes playing multiple nights in a row, but the 2025 tour in which they celebrate their century-long existence, promises to have lots of extras. In addition to the game, fans can participate in a variety of fun activities. Premium fan experiences include:
- The all-new Magic Pass, allowing for pre-game access & player meet-and-greets
- Celebrity Court Pass, allowing fans to join the team for warmups on the court.
- VIP bench tickets, allowing fans to sit on the bench with the Globetrotters or Generals for the entire game.
- A limited edition 100 Year Golden Replica Game Ball by Spalding®.
- A 100 Year Tour Souvenir Ticket (available in select markets).
Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the general public on Monday, September 22 at 10 am local time, with presales starting on September 15.
