In memory of those who tragically lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, the Exchange Club of Tempe will present the Healing Field® tribute Thursday, Sept. 11, through Sunday, Sept. 14.

The Healing Field memorial reflects on the tragedy of that day and pays tribute to the nearly 3,000 innocent lives that were lost. Thousands of American flags will be placed throughout Tempe Beach Park, representing each of the victims. Activities include a flag viewing, patriotic concert, 5K run/walk, and ceremony.

Every year, members of the community dedicate hundreds of hours to this grassroots effort to assemble and place the flags. It’s a moving display and a reminder that we will never forget the tragic events of that day.
