The Dolly Parton Imagination Library will continue offering free books to children younger than five for at least another year in Washington State. This comes after the program was cut from the state budget.
Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal announced his office will cover the $2 million cost to maintain the program.
The Imagination Library program, which began in Washington in 2022, serves more than 9,800 children in Spokane County.
