(TNND) — Cassie Donegan, Miss New York, was crowned Miss America 2026 after competing against 52 delegates across all 50 states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico.
“Miss America has always been a powerful springboard for ambitious women to turn their dreams into reality,” Donegan said. “I am honored to represent an organization that provides scholarships, resources, and a platform for women to lead—and I’m deeply grateful for the chance to bring that mission to life.”
On top of the coveted title, she also took home $70,000 in scholarship money. The 27-year-old is the eighth woman to win from New York.
Donegan has a background in arts education. For the past two years, she has focused on youth theatre. She built a professional performance career across the country and is a member of an organization called the Actors’ Equity Association.
She is also a businesswoman. Donegan serves as the Chief Operations Officer of Southern Sitter LLC, a women-led childcare company she expanded into a multi-state business. The business model allows women to have flexible career opportunities.
Following her win, Donegan will serve as the official national brand ambassador for Miss America Opportunity. She will travel the world to promote arts education, scholarship and service.
