PHOENIX (AZFamily) —Highs will stay a few degrees above normal through Wednesday. However, Wednesday will also bring in some breezes with afternoon and evening gusts of 25 mph possible in the Valley.
Temperatures will fall to around 100 on Thursday with some lingering wind gusts of 20-25 mph. There is a slight chance of showers in the higher terrain east of Phoenix on Thursday afternoon and evening.
Friday morning will likely start with temperatures in the upper 70s with afternoon highs just shy of 100. Saturday looks like the pick of the week with morning temperatures in the mid-70s and afternoon highs in the upper 90s! Sunday morning should also be pleasant with low 70s followed by afternoon high temps near 100.
For the high country, breezes will start to increase later today into Wednesday. A wind advisory is in effect from late Wednesday morning through the evening for the northern mountains.
During this time, gusts up to 40-45 mph are possible. Temperatures will start to drop Thursday into the weekend, creating a Fall-like feel.
For example, Flagstaff high temperatures will be in the low 70s Thursday through the weekend with overnight lows in the mid-40s. A few showers and thunderstorms will move into eastern Arizona Wednesday through Friday, although the central mountains will likely stay mostly dry.
