PHOENIX — Two dogs are dead after a north Phoenix house fire that occurred Friday morning, authorities said.
Firefighters were dispatched to the area of Seventh Street and Beardsley Road around 8 a.m. for reports of an unknown fire, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

When crews arrived on the scene, they saw light smoke coming from the second story of a two-story house.
The house was clear of any occupants but there were two dogs found inside the house. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate the dogs using a Fido bag but their efforts were unsuccessful.
The cause of the fire is unknown. An investigation is underway.
Two resident were displaced by the fire. Personnel with the city’s Community Assistance Program were dispatched to help with the displaced couple’s needs.
