A North Country man has been arrested on DUI charges after a crash that caused a person to lose his arm.New York State Police arrested Dakota Ostroski, 25, of Moira for his alleged involvement in a crash on June 30.Investigators said Ostroski was driving north on Hoyt Road in Bombay that night when he lost control of his vehicle and sideswiped a tree.There were two passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and all three people were injured. While Ostroski and one of the passengers suffered only minor injuries, a 30-year-old passenger had to have his right arm amputated at the University of Vermont Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries.New York State Police later clarified that there was a fourth person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but they were uninjured.Troopers on scene said Ostroski showed signs of being impaired and they attempted to administer Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, but he was unable to perform them due to his injuries.A blood test returned on Sept. 2 determined that Ostroski’s blood alcohol content at the time of the crash was 0.15%, nearly twice the legal limit.Police arrested Ostroski on Monday and also issued him vehicle and traffic tickets for the incident. A North Country man has been arrested on DUI charges after a crash that caused a person to lose his arm.

New York State Police arrested Dakota Ostroski, 25, of Moira for his alleged involvement in a crash on June 30.

Investigators said Ostroski was driving north on Hoyt Road in Bombay that night when he lost control of his vehicle and sideswiped a tree.
