PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — At the Philadelphia Museum of Art, these athletes are running up and down their iconic steps for a good cause.

“Every step that our athletes are taking today is going to echo for years to come, long after this event is gone,” said President and CEO of Legacy of Hope, Michael Rowe.

During Legacy of Hope’s “PHL24” event, runners have been climbing the steps, and will not finish their journey until they’ve reached 24 hours.

One of those runners was Jefferson student Elliott Sina, sponsored by the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.

“I’ve decided to pursue Otolaryngology head and neck surgery. I really think there’s nothing quite like the cancer patient population. They really are a special group of people,” said Sina.
