North American Rail Solutions, based in Fort Worth, has announced the appointment of Steve Schmotzer as chief development officer. He succeeds David Goretski, who will remain in a senior advisory capacity to support strategic initiatives.
Schmotzer brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in transportation, manufacturing, and industrial services. His career includes senior roles at Kenworth (PACCAR), Mack Trucks, and within the commercial truck distribution network, where he consistently delivered transformative business results, according to a press release. He has led underperforming business units back to profitability, created international channels, and improved operational performance through restructuring, sales leadership, and market development.
Before joining North American Rail Solutions, Schmotzer was vice president of sales for the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Eastern Canada at The Greenbrier Companies. There, he advanced go-to-market strategy, negotiated complex agreements, and launched innovative service offerings and railcar designs that generated long-term value for the company and its joint ventures.
“I join the team at a critical time in its evolution, and look forward to developing and implementing scalable, creative solutions to support our rapid growth and delivering tangible value to our customers,” Schmotzer said in a statement.
North American Rail Solutions operates from more than 45 offices across the U.S. and Canada.
