PHOENIX — A man has died after he was hit by a vehicle in Phoenix on Saturday night, according to authorities.

The Phoenix Police Department said the person was hit at around 6:15 p.m. near 28th and Van Buren streets.
“When officers arrived, they found a man on the roadway with obvious signs of trauma,” police said.
Fire crews rushed the man to the hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.
Police said the driver involved remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment.
“Sometime after the roadway and scene was blocked off, a vehicle drove through the scene and later stopped by officers,” police said. “The driver of that vehicle showed signs of impairment and is currently being processed for DUI.”
