The Dallas Cowboys held a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk ahead of Sunday’s game against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium.
The moment of silence took place before the Star Spangled Banner was played in Arlington. A photo of Kirk was displayed on the AT&T Stadium videoboard at that moment.
The Cowboys weren’t the only NFL team to observe a moment of silence this week. Green Bay held a similar moment of reflection before its Thursday meeting with the Washington Commanders.

Kirk, 31, was shot and killed Wednesday while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. After Kirk’s assassination, memorials and prayer vigils have been held across the country.
On Friday, authorities announced the arrest of Tyler Robinson in the killing. Robinson, 22, was arrested on aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily harm and obstruction of justice.
According to CBS Sports, the NFL let its clubs decide whether they would observe a moment of silence for Kirk.
Kirk, CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was a top podcaster, culture warrior and ally of President Donald Trump.
He led an effort to remake the GOP’s get-out-the-vote effort in the 2024 election based on the theory there were thousands of Trump supporters who rarely vote but could be persuaded to vote.
