Re “San Diego wants 17,000 new homes in Clairemont” (Sept. 7): After reading about the proposal envisioned by the Planning Commission, I couldn’t help but see the contradiction of adding so many more people to the area while at the same time eliminating traffic lanes on busy streets and replacing them with bike lanes. I would guess that if you ask the people of Clairemont whether they want more density with fewer traffic lanes, they would undoubtedly reject the idea.
Why are “city planners” so bent on turning San Diego into another Los Angeles, complete with gridlock and a loss of community charm?
