Whale skeleton to be hung above Maine Beer Company tasting room

PORTLAND (WGME) — A fin whale skeleton is being hung above Maine Beer Company’s tasting room.

The whale’s skeleton was recovered on the shores of Stueben by the College of the Atlantic to be reassembled in class.

The Maine Beer Company supported the college with recovering the young fin whale’s remains.

Now it is being gifted to the brewery.

A formal event unveiling the skeleton will be held in October.

The Maine Beer Company’s co-founder Dan Kleban, who is among the Democratic candidates in the U.S. Senate race, will be joined by Representative Chellie Pingree to give speeches.

Proceeds will benefit the College of the Atlantic’s Allied Whale Research Group.
