Can the Phillies earn the top-seed in the National League?
Philadelphia is still in the race for the National League’s top seed. The Phillies are 1.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers for the best record in the NL and in baseball, which would secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
However, the Brewers hold the tiebreaker, having won the season series between the teams. So, the Phillies would need to make up 2.5 games with 10 left.
The Brewers magic number to clinch the best record is 9.
