Bridgeview

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: A Chicago man who threw a glass plate at two acquaintances, threatened them with a board embedded with two nails and then hit an officer as he was being removed was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and also accused of aggravated assault and resisting arrest, police said. Zuhar Gahreeb, 24, was taken into custody during a Sept. 8 domestic disturbance investigation in the 8000 block of Beloit Avenue, police said.

Burbank

IDENTITY THEFT: A resident told police an unidentified person used a fictitious state identification card in an attempt to withdraw $19,000 from her bank account Aug. 21, less than a month after someone used cashiers’ checks and gift cards to withdraw $19,000, police said. The victim said she learned of the initial July 26 transaction on Aug. 18 after discovering her account had been frozen, police said.

FORGERY: Paul D. Bradford-Crowder, 29, Chicago, was charged with forgery Aug. 21 after attempting to buy a laptop computer with 15 counterfeit $100 bills at an electronics store in the 7600 block of Cicero Avenue, police said. Bradford-Crowder was taken into custody at a nearby sandwich shop and also accused of resisting arrest, police said.

Crete

RECKLESS DRIVING: Enrique Hernandez, 31, Chicago Heights, was arraigned Sept. 9, charged with reckless driving and drunken driving on Aug. 24 in both Crete and University Park, according to Will County records online. Hernandez disregarded the Burville Road stop sign at Illinois Route 1 shortly after midnight, drove into a field behind Illinois Lutheran High School and then drove north on Illinois Route 1 for about six blocks to Exchange Street, turned west and eventually crashed in University Park about 3 ½ miles away after reaching speeds exceeding 100 mph, police said.

Evergreen Park

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Darren L. Muldrow, 37, Chicago, was arrested Aug. 13 and accused of aggravated assault after displaying scissors and a razor while asking customers for food and money at a fast-food restaurant in the 9100 block of Western Avenue, police said.

SEX OFFENDER: Arthur Cox, 77, Chicago, was arrested for failing to register as a sexual predator during an Aug. 16 stop at 95th Street and Western Avenue, police said. Cox was convicted in Cook County court of aggravated criminal sexual abuse to a 14-year-old when he was 66, according to state sex-offender records.

Ford Heights

GUN POSSESSION: Leon Patterson, 29, 1500 block of Diplomat Lane, Ford Heights, was charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon after deputies determined his gun permit was revoked and recovered a loaded gun during a pre-tow search during a Sept. 7 stop shortly after midnight at Woodlawn Avenue and Park Lane for suspended registration, Cook County sheriff’s police said.

Frankfort

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Michael S. Nearey, 47, 20600 block of Settlers Lane, Frankfort, was arrested Sept. 10 and accused of aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest after striking a deputy who was assisting Frankfort police investigating a disturbance in that block, a Will County sheriff’s spokesperson said.

Homewood

ARMED VIOLENCE: Alex Bates, 19, Glenwood, was arrested July 30 and accused of armed violence, aggravated unlawfully possessing a weapon, possessing more than 30 grams of cannabis with intent to deliver and unlawfully possessing a weapon without a serial number during a stop in the 1100 block of 183rd Street after an officer on a Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program detail recovered a 9 mm pistol without serial numbers, 2 ½ ounces of marijuana, a scale, measuring tools and more than 80 empty bags, police said.

ROAD RAGE: Ian Sullivan, 35, 1700 block of Dixie Highway, Crete, was arrested July 31 and accused of aggravated assault after exiting his vehicle and brandishing a knife in the 800 block of Elder Road, police said.

Lansing

UNLICENSED CRASH: Dennis B. Russell, 36, 1800 block of Reichert Avenue, Sauk Village, was arrested and accused of aggravated speeding, aggravated fleeing, driving on a suspended license, disregarding a red light, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision and hit-run during an Aug. 19 car-truck crash investigation at Burnham Avenue and Bernice Road, police said.

Lockport

GUN POSSESSION: David H. Wilhite, 42, Alpena, Arkansas, was taken into custody Sept. 15 on an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court on a charge of being a felon in possession of a weapon, according to Will County court records online. The charge stems from a March 18 disturbance investigation at a motel in the 16200 block of 159th Street during which officers recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol from Wilhite and determined he couldn’t legally possess a firearm, police said.

New Lenox

BITCOIN SCAM: A New Lenox resident paid $1,750 in bitcoin Aug. 25 to two callers who claimed the payment would keep the resident’s arrested relative out of the Will County jail’s general population, police said. The resident sensed a scam and contacted New Lenox officers when the callers sought an additional $1,250, police said.

Orland Park

MEDIAN RESTER: Teresa Gonzales-Cruz, 22, 9700 block of Ravinia Court, Orland Park, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview Oct. 15, charged with drunken driving, driving on the wrong side of the road, improper lane use and illegally transporting alcohol, police said. Gonzales-Cruz was arrested Aug. 25 after officers found her stopped on three tires and a rim on the 143rd Street median at 95th Avenue, police said.

Park Forest

GUN POSSESSION: Milton Gibson Jr., 45, first block of Woodland Glen, Park Forest, was arrested and accused of unlawful possession of a weapon after officers recovered a loaded .380 pistol and determined he lacked a concealed-carry license during an Aug. 29 stop near Western Avenue and Indianwood Boulevard, police said.

Will County

DUI CRASH: Donald J. Mikrut, 72, 22900 block of Balmoral Drive, unincorporated Frankfort Township, was charged Sept. 12 with aggravated drunken driving and felony driving on a suspended or revoked license in connection with a vehicle-light pole crash at Gateway and Pinehurst drives in the Gateway Homes subdivision, a Will County sheriff’s spokesperson said.
