A driver was arrested Wednesday night after leading a high-speed pursuit that ended in the West Los Angeles area.

The chase began around 8:26 p.m. on State Route 261 in Orange County. According to CHP, the driver was wanted for driving in the opposite direction of traffic.

Several CHP patrol cars were tailing the driver as they swerved through freeway traffic into LA County.

The driver made their way through downtown Los Angeles on the 10 Freeway before transitioning onto the northbound 405 Freeway.

The driver exited the freeway in the Westwood area and eventually came to a stop near Macarthur and Gorham Avenue before surrendering to police
