Officials with Caldwell Communities, the developer of The Highlands in Porter, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Sept. 16 for Phase 2 of the master-planned community’s amenity center, Discovery Cove.

What to expect

According to information posted via The Highlands’ Facebook page, Phase 2 will feature:

  • A resort-style, adult-only pool
  • A fitness center
  • A movement studio
  • Gathering space

“These additions will bring even more opportunities for connection, wellness and relaxation right here in the heart of The Highlands,” the post reads.

A projected completion date for Phase 2 had not been announced as of press time.

Some context

As previously reported by Community Impact, Phase 1 of Discovery Cove opened in May and includes a waterpark featuring waterslides, splash pads, a 10-minute lazy river, a dive pool, and a beach-entry, resort-style pool.

The Highlands is a 2,300-acre master-planned community by Caldwell Communities located in Porter. The community features 13 homebuilders with prices starting in the $350,000s.
